Once again, students at Diss High School have achieved some outstanding A level results; the pass rate was over 99%, with 83% of all grades being A* to C.

Notable successes include William Ashwood who gained 3A* grades and a grade A plus an A* for his extended project and is going to read Natural Sciences at York University; Georgina Dunkinson gained an A* and 3 grade As and an A in her extended project and is reading Medicine at Newnham College, Cambridge; Rebecca Emsden achieved the equivalent of 3A* grades and will study Maths at Loughborough University; Martin Nunn gained 2A*s and 2 As and will study Economics at Leeds University; Max Court gained 3 grade As and a grade C and will read Physics at Bath University.

Headteacher, Dr Jan Hunt said, “A levels were more rigorous this year and students and staff are to be congratulated on a fabulous set of results! Nearly all of our students have already had their university places confirmed.”

Students at Diss High School have achieved pleasing GCSE results and are celebrating with 83% of students achieving a grade 4+ in English, 78% of students achieving a grade 4+ in two sciences, 70% achieving a grade 4+ in Maths  and 66% achieving a grade 4 plus in both English and Maths. In addition, 58% of all entries achieved “strong passes” of grades 9 - 5.

Notable individual successes were: Amy Hawkins who achieved 11 strong GCSE passes including 6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and a grade A in Level 3 Additional Maths; Isaac Nunn achieved 10 strong passes including 6 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and a Distinction*; Joshua Smith achieved 10 strong passes including 5 grade 9s and 1 grade 8; Dhiya Deepu achieved 10 strong passes including 4 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s and Oliver Lee achieved 10 strong passes including 4 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s.

Headteacher, Dr Jan Hunt said “This is a year group that has made excellent progress from some low starting points. Students and staff are to be congratulated on another successful set of results which have come from dedicated hard work and supportive parents.”
