Re-start a Heart Day at Diss High School

Monday 16th October was Restart a Heart Day, which is a British Heart Foundation annual initiative.  It aims to train as many people as possible in CPR in one day, so that more people know these life-saving skills.  As part of this initiative, on the 19th October, Year 9 students from Diss High School had the privilege of expert training from Alison Pursehouse from ACP Consultants.   It was a full hands-on day which involved pupils putting each other in the recovery position, practising CPR on the Resusci  Annes and a defibrillator demonstration. All of the pupils found this an extremely engaging experience, one Year 9 pupil said “I think everyone should have this training; it is an essential life skill”; another said “You hope you will never need to use these skills, but I feel I could help someone if it did happen”.  A huge thank you goes to Mrs Pursehouse and ACP Consultants for providing such a valuable experience for our students.
