BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business

This exciting qualification provides the equivalent of TWO A levels. We study the theories and techniques used in modern business management.  We prepare students for employment in management and for degree level study.  Most students also study one or two A levels as well as their Level 3 BTEC

The Level 3 BTEC  in Business  motivates learners via applied  learning and assessment.  BTEC qualifications are recognised by employers and education institutions and provides a progression route to more advanced qualifications eg degrees.

How is the BTEC Business Assessed?
Assessment is achieved through coursework projects (75%) and through external assessment. External assessment is through one examination in Finance, and through two externally set and marked projects.

All subjects are individually graded as pass, merit or distinction. The points total at the end of your course will determine your overall grade.

Entry Requirements:
We are looking for students who expect to gain at least 5 GCSEs at grade C, including Maths  and English, and who are interested in the world of Business.

Students following the Level 3 BTEC  in Business at Diss High School have enjoyed great success in recent years.   The independent learning style of the course prepares students well for degree level study. Other students have found good employment locally.

Learning is achieved through a variety of methods such as: group-work; discussions; presentations; lectures; debates; case studies; projects and in-class activities; use of company materials and products; company reports; company web sites; educational visits; guest speakers from industry; and interactive computing software.   The course aims to develop confidence and professionalism in business management students.
